Congratulations to everyone who represented the club in the Dublin Masters Cross Country Champs in St. Anne’s Park yesterday afternoon, which were well supported with a record turnout and two new clubs competing. In the women’s 3k race Maria Dolan was first home for the club, finishing 5th overall and 2nd in the F45 category, and was followed by Derval Devaney (6th), Vanessa Sallier (9th and 3rd O/40), Laura Flynn, Miriam McCormack and Zoe Melling. The team finished in 4th place. Paul Fleming fought a tough battle in the men’s 6k race to finish second overall and win silver in the M35 category. He also scored team bronze along with Ronan Kearns, Shane O’Neill and Turlough Conway, who were supported by team mates Denis Everett, John Farrelly, Derek Bain, and John Hogan. The M50 team of Gerry Doyle, Tommy Bishop, Sean Doyle, and John McHugh won gold ahead of host club Raheny, and were supported by Terry Clarke, Philip Wright, PJ Claffey, and Eoin Murray. Full results are available on the Dublin Athletics website, and photos are in the gallery.
