Congratulations to new Dublin Junior Cross Country Champion Mitchell Byrne, who led a field of 49 athletes in the combined junior/under 18 race in St. Anne’s Park yesterday to win the title. Mitch completed the 6k course in a time of 19.36, and was followed by David Scanlon in 8th position in 20.18. In the under 18 race Jonathan O’Donoghue was first home from the club, finishing 11th in 20.39, followed by Oisin Joyce (35th in 22.48), Daniel Martin (39th in 23.11), Conor O’Neill (42nd in 23.50) and Donal Murphy (46th in 24.27). Jonathan and Oisin also scored on the junior men's team which won bronze. The under 18 team were 4th. In the 10,000m senior men’s race Louis McCarthy was 15th of 57 finishers in a time of 32.42, followed by Paul Stephenson (16th in 32.46), Paul Fleming (21st in 33.07), Ronan Kearns (25th in 33.30), Matthew Horrigan (27th in 33.39), Ciaran Aylward (29th in 33.46), Jason Reid (30th in 33.48) and Brian Furey (47th in 35.44).
