Rathfarnham Athletes did a good job at today's National Inter Counties Cross Country Championships held in Tatersalles, Ratoath, Co Meath.
David Scanlon and Lawrence Boran competed in the Junior men's race. David finished 20th and Lawrence 37th. The Championship was won by Dublin and David was delighted to be a member of the scoring team. The Senior men's race over a 10k course was won by Joe Sweeney and behind him there was a tough battle for silver and bronze between Sean Hehir and Michael Mulhare. Sean finally finished in third position in 34.16. His home County Clare also won bronze buoyed up by his third overall position. Brian Furey competing for Galway scored on his home County Team which finished in eight overall. Well done all in very muddy conditions. The results are on the Athletics Ireland website.
