Well done to Pearse Coyle, Sean Doyle and John Toomey who kicked off the new year with good runs in the Tom Brennan Memorial 5k in the Phoenix Park. Pearse was first home for the club in 21st place in a time of 17.29, and 2nd in the M45 category. Sean Doyle was next in 44th position and 3rd O/50 in 18.36, followed by John Toomey (163rd in 23.18). The race route was altered due to road works in the park, and included a couple of sharp cross-country style corners. The new course didn't prove an obstacle to race winners John Coghlan and Fionnuala Britton, who comfortably broke the men's and women's records in times of 14.33 and 16.15 respectively. Full results are attached below, and a few photos are in the gallery. Best wishes for a happy and active New Year to all.
