Well done to all the athletes who took part in the St Patrick’s Festival 5k Road Race yesterday. Louis McCarthy was first home for the club in 8th place in a time of 15.44, followed by Ian Ingram (23rd in 16.35), Brian O’Donoghue (30th in 16.47), Gerard Claffey (49th in 17.45), John McCabe (51st and 2nd O/50 in 17.48), Owen Mc Loughlin (17.58), Sean Hayes (71st and 2nd Junior in 18.29), Helen Ingram 20.33 (182nd and 2nd F55), Noel Crowther (206th in 20.50), P.J. Claffey (21.00) and Philip Halpin (395th in 24.01). The race was won by Mark Christie of Mullingar AC in 14.17, and first women was Kerry Harty of Newcastle AC in 16.21. Provisional results are available on the MSB website which has a message that some names are missing from results due to faulty chip timing.
