A great day for the club in Nenagh at the National Masters Indoors began with the 800s: First off Paul Fleming ran a tremendous race to finish 1st (V1) in 2.04 and followed that later with a victory in the 1500m. Paul is cranking it up to run for Ireland in the European Masters Indoors in Ghent in March. Pearse Coyle had a very good silver in the 800m (V2) while Owen Mc Loughlin (silver V3) and John Mc Hugh (bronze V4) had very good runs. Stuart McClean had a runaway victory in the 400m (V2) in 57 seconds. Mick Bolger had two great runs. His bronze in the 1500 in 4.26 was followed 5 minutes later (yes, a five minute gap!) by a gold (V2) in the 3000m in 9.53. He had a great finish and is getting stronger by the week. Pierce was beaten into 4th in the same race (V2) while Owen Mc Loughlin completed the medal haul for the day with a bronze in the 1500m (V3). All in all a very successful day and all athletes should give it a shot at some stage. Full results will be posted on the AAI website. Next week is the Leinster Master Indoors at the same venue!
