Congratulations to our men's team of John Brennan (5th), Derek Furniss (10th), Paul McGovern (11th) and Brian Furey (15th, in his debut race for the club) who took team silver at the Dublin Novice cross country champs in the Phoenix Park yesterday afternoon. Carole Pauli, who returned from Switzerland specially for the women's race, had a fantastic run to finish 2nd in a record field of 71. Tracy Jennings (21st), Sabine Lainer (32nd), and Joanne Hope (44th, also in her debut race for the club), also scored on the team, which finished in 6th place. A total of 21 Rathfarnham athletes competed in the novice races in sunny spectator-friendly conditions, adding a sea of green to the idyllic autumn colours in the park. Congratulations to all.
