I took part in The Great Ethiopian 10k Run on Sunday 21st November at 8000ft altitude in 24 degrees heat. It was the toughest and most enjoyable race I will ever do in my life and I highly recommend it to anybody from the club interested in taking part next year. In the Dublin Graded #6 on Wednesday evening in Santry Stewart McClean ran 55.84 in the 400m and Stephen Gaffney ran 57.12. In the 1500m Louis McCarthy ran 4.15 followed by Brian O'Donoghue 4.28, Mick Bolger 4.35 and Ian Rankin 4.37. In the 3000m Derek Bain ran 10.16. Well done to all. At the Dublin Graded No. 5 in Irishtown on Wednesday night Brian McCabe ran 25.43 in the Mens 200m. In the 1500m Eoin Flynn was 3rd in the A category 3.55 and Paul Fleming 4th in the A category 3.58. In the Lucan 5K Road Race on Sunday 13th June Gearoid O'Connor was 2nd overall in 16.27 followed by Gerard Claffey 19.39, John Hogan 19.51, Miriam McCormack 20.17, PJ Claffey 21.04, Lesley Tilson 21.05, Zoe Melling 21.16, Lorraine Nolan 21.27 and Helen Leonard 21.53.
