Stephen Gaffney continued his progress today at the National Junior Track & Field Championships in Tullamore. In the Long Jump he jumped a PB by 20 cm. His performance of 6.56 m earned him a bronze medal in what is a high level championship. In the sleepy village of Gowran in South Kilkenny the scene was set between sunshine and rain showers for a very successful Championships for Rathfarnham. Paul Fleming finished 4th in the 3rd Heat of four, time 4.02 for 1500m in a very competitive field for qualification. The first three in each heat went through to the final. In the Dublin Senior Track & Field Championships we were represented by Paul Fleming, Michael Freeley and Brian O'Donoghue in the 1500M event. Paul ran a great race finishing in silver medal position, he gave Emmet Dunleavy a good race and any error by Emmet would have seen Paul take gold. We had a small but very successful number of Juvenile athletes competing in the Dublin Track and Field Championships on the 20th and 21st June.Tom McGrath who made finals of both 60M and 600M ran a great final to win bronze in the 600M.
