Well done to Helen Leonard who had a brilliant run in the Cork BHAA UCC/Carmel Lynch Memorial 10k on Sunday, finishing third woman in 39 mins. Full race results are on the Cork BHAA website. The final BHAA cross country race of the season took place last night, on a floodlit 5k course in the grounds of Malahide Rugby Club. Seven Rathfarnham runners joined the field of 157 who lined up for the combined race at 8pm. Brian Coleman was first home from the club, running a great race to finish a close second in 17.31. Well done to Paul Fleming who represented the club at the European Masters Indoor Champs in Belgium last week. In the 3000m finals on Wednesday Paul was 9th in the faster of two heats in a time of 8.51.70, and he finished 6th in his 1500m race in 4:09.42 yesterday. Well done to all the athletes who took part in the St Patrick’s Festival 5k Road Race yesterday. Well done to Seán Hehir who was 20th in the Antrim International Cross Country race on Saturday, 30 seconds behind the first scorer on the Irish team, Mark Kirwan.
