The Frank Duffy 10mile road race took part in the Phoenix Park on Saturday 24th August and incorporated the Dublin Athletics Board 10 mile road race. The National Masters Track & Field Championships 2019 took place at Tullamore AC track on Sunday 18th August. Performance of the day was from Rathfarnham WSAF AC’s Tommy Hughes who won gold and silver medals. The gold was in the M55 5000m where he ran a new M55 track record of 16:39.99. The 2019 Kilcock 10 mile road race on Sunday 18th August 2019 was run in very blustery conditions but on a well-planned flat circular course. Running his best time in a few years Seán Hehir won in a time of 49:45. Rathfarnham WSAF AC’s Paul Stephenson was an excellent second in a super time of 51:21. We had three Rathfarnham WSAF AC athletes having a go at qualification for the Irish short course team to go to the World Mountain Running Championships. Eoin Flynn, Luke McMullen and Barry Minnock. Stephen Gaffney was the sole Rathfarnham WSAF AC athlete at the 2019 Cork City Sports held in the C.I.T. Athletics Stadium on Wednesday evening the 14th of August 2019. Even at this late stage in the track season he is still very much on the up and produced a blisteringly fast new 100m PB of 10.54s. The 2019 National Half marathon Championships took place within the Rock n Roll half marathon from Fitzwilliam Square to the Phoenix Park on Sunday 11th August.
