Four master males (or is that male masters?) competed in the Leinster Indoors with a haul of 11 medals. Stuart Mc Clean and Owen Mc Loughlin took track titles (M2 400 for Stuart and M3 800/1500 double for Owen). Congratulations to Eoin Flynn who ran a pb of 8.30.3 for 3000m in the Welsh Indoor Championships in Cardiff today, knocking 2.5 seconds off his previous best. This performance was an excellent warmup for the National Senior Indoors in Belfast next weekend, in which Eoin will be contending for a top place. Rathfarnham WSAF was well represented in Raheny this afternoon, where a record field of 2100 completed the five miles in cold, clear conditions. First home for the club was Paul Fleming in 7th place in a time of 25.28, who along with Paul McGovern (18th in 26.25) and Ian Ingram (44th in 28.02) picked up the prize for second team. A large team from the Club took part in the Eircon BHAA Cross country in Firhouse yesterday. First home for the Club in the ladies 2 mile race was Ciara Hassett in 15th. followed by Miriam McCormick (17th and 2nd O.40) and Zoe Melling (20th). Some excellent results were achieved in the Dublin Masters Cross Country Championships in Tymon Park today. Well done to all club athletes who ran in today's BHAA Cross Country. Aisling Tohill was our only representative in the ladies 2 mile race. In the men's 4 mile race Paul McGovern was first home in 10th place, followed by John Brennan, Ian Ingram, Turlough Conway, Rory O'Hanlon, Alex Fraser, Terry Clark and Philip Wright. Some good Club performances were recorded last Saturday in the Waterford Half Marathon. Out of over 930 finishers Jason Reid was 22nd in 78.09, followed by Liam Griffin (58th in 85.47) and Mike Long (86th in 87.39). Well done to all.
