We had three athletes competing at the Drogheda IMC meeting on Saturday 13th July 2019, all in the 800m. Carla Sweeney was fifth in the women’s A race in a time of 2:09.64. Cillian Doherty ran 1:55.10 and Lee Byrne 2:01.86 in the men’s B race to come 2nd and 9th respectively. Well done to all. FULL RESULTS HERE...

In the 2019 National 10mile road race incorporated into the Irish Runner 10mile Seán Hehir was the top Rathfarnham WSAF AC finisher coming an excellent 4th but unfortunately just outside the medals. The Dublin Athletics Graded Track and Field meeting no.6 was held in Morton Stadium, Santry on Wednesday July 10th. Well done to Stephen Gaffney who won the 100m in an excellent time of 10.87 considering it was into a 2.7m/s headwind. Summer time sees some Rathfarnham WSAF AC athletes moving west for a holiday but not a break! The Achill half marathon/10k was on Saturday July 6th. Conditions were tough but Clare Sullivan had a super run to come 6th overall and 1st women in the 10k in 39:07. Rathfarnham WSAF AC's Mitchell Byrne had a cracking finish to come second in the 5000m B race at the BMC Watford Grand Prix Track and Field meeting on Saturday 29th June. Despite the heat and humidity he set a new PB of 14:45.35. Big congratulations and plenty more to come. What do they say..... you loose a second for every degree over 10 Celsius!!...

Friday evening racing and the balmy conditions made for a different feel to the 2019 ST.Coca’c Kilcock 5k on June 29th. Kevin Donagher had a SB, finally dipping under 16mins to run 15:55. John Farrelly was the sole Rathfarnham WSAF AC athlete in the 2019 Clonee 10k on Thursday 27th June hosted by Dunboyne AC. Returning to form he won 1st M55 in a time of 40:49. Well done John! FULL RESULTS HERE...
