Congratulations to eveyone who competed in the mini marathon on Monday, bravely battling scorching sunshine on one of the hottest afternoons of the year so far. Well done to Zoe Melling who competed in the European Masters Athletics Championships 10k road race in Aarhus Denmark on Friday 29th May. The Irish team took the silver medal in their category, which was made up by Bernie White (43.14) from Dublin Striders, Zoe Melling (43.55) and Mary McDermott (45.44) from Donore. Well done to all. Padraig MacCriostail continues to improve with every race by winning the Intel BHAA 10k road race in a time of 33.45, a personal best. Padraig had previously broken his PB by breaking 34.00 in the National 10k in Navan recently. 33.30 now beckons. In the 1,500m A race Julian Kuppler was 3rd. in 3.53 and Barry Minnock ran 4.06. In the A 3,000m race James King ran 8.32 while Garoid O'Connor acted as pacemaker and finished in 9.26. Stuart McClane ran 56.61 in 400m. In the mile race we had 8 finishers with Julian Kuppler (4.20), Ian Ingram (4.40), Derek Furness (4.54), Owen McLoughlin (4.55), Pierce Coyle (4.57), Mark Scanlon (5.00), John McHugh (5.15) and Alex Fraser (5.32).
