The Dublin Graded track and field meets finally kicked off on Wednesday June 9th in Tallaght Athletics Stadium. Because numbers are limited under current Covid rules the meet was kept to 3 events; Hammer, 100m and 1500m. It was fantastic to have a group of our club athletes competing together at a meet after such a long break. Well done to all our Juvenile and Junior athletes who took part in the AAI Virtual Cross country Challenge. It was great to see everybody doing some racing. Laura McDonnell’s first outing in the green of Rathfarnham WSAF AC saw her coming third in the Castlegar Open Cross Country on September 19th while she was in Galway. It could have been first except for a stewarding error but it was a cracking run for Laura who is already seeing a great improvement since she joined the club....

The highlight of the 2020 National Masters Track and Field Championships for Rathfarnham WSAF AC was the fantastic 5000m gold medal performances by Paul Fleming in the M45’s and Paul Moran in the M55’s. Delayed due to Covid-19 there was a buzz about Dublin when it was realised that the First Dublin Athletic Graded Track and Field event was to go ahead.
